CartCloset Privacy Policy
Effective October 27, 2026
CartCloset is a Chrome extension made by DR Ventures ("we"). It lets you save clothing and other products from online stores, then group them into outfits and compare their total prices. This policy explains what the extension reads, where that information goes, and the choices you have.
What CartCloset reads
CartCloset reads a page only when you ask it to:
- When you click the CartCloset icon (or press its keyboard shortcut), it reads the store page in your current tab and looks for the product's name, price, currency, picture, brand, store name, and page address. Most stores publish these details in their pages for search engines.
- When you click "Save all shopping tabs", Chrome first asks for your permission. CartCloset then reads the open tabs in that window the same way, saves the ones that are product pages, and closes them if you choose. Tabs that aren't product pages are left open and nothing from them is kept.
CartCloset does not read pages in the background, track the sites you visit, or read anything else on the page, such as form fields, passwords, payment details, or messages.
Where your information is stored
Saved items and outfits are stored only in your browser, using Chrome's local extension storage on your device. They are never sent to us or to anyone else. We don't operate servers for CartCloset and can't see your saved items.
Product pictures shown on your board load directly from the store's own website, as they would if you visited the store.
What we don't do
- We don't collect personal information such as your name, email, or location.
- We don't use analytics, advertising trackers, or cookies.
- We don't sell, rent, or share data with anyone.
- We don't use your data for anything unrelated to saving and comparing products.
Permissions CartCloset asks for
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Storage | Keeps your saved items and outfits on your device. |
| Active tab and scripting | Reads the product on the page you're viewing when you click the CartCloset icon. |
| Tabs | Finds your open shopping tabs and closes them for "Save all shopping tabs", and opens the store pages when you click "Buy items". |
| Access to all websites (optional) | Requested only when you first use "Save all shopping tabs", so CartCloset can read product details from your other open tabs. You can decline or remove it at any time in Chrome's extension settings. |
Your choices
- Remove any saved item or outfit from your board at any time.
- Uninstalling CartCloset deletes everything it stored.
- You can remove the optional "all websites" permission in Chrome under Extensions → CartCloset → Details → Site access.
Children
CartCloset is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If we add features that work differently, such as sharing outfits with friends or affiliate links on store pages, we'll update this policy first and change the date at the top. We won't start collecting data without saying so here.
